Outside the familiar setting of galleries and museums, contemporary art begins to meet people where they already are—in the middle of errands, conversations, coffee breaks, and ordinary afternoons. The encounter becomes less formal, and perhaps, more approachable.

This June, Provenance Art Gallery explores that idea through Bridging The Gap 2, one of the gallery’s major projects for 2026, opening at Power Plant Mall in Rockwell.

Returning after the success of last year’s edition, the large-scale initiative brings together more than 80 contemporary Filipino artists in a three-month celebration of Philippine creativity, running from June to August 2026.

But beyond the numbers, what makes the project compelling is its intention: to make contemporary art more accessible to wider audiences.

Conceived as a platform for dialogue and discovery, Bridging The Gap 2 transforms a familiar public space into an evolving environment for artistic exchange. Through a series of rotating exhibitions, immersive installations, and public programs, the project invites visitors to engage with contemporary Philippine art in ways that feel less intimidating and more immediate.

Rather than asking audiences to enter the traditional art world, the project brings the art world closer to everyday audiences.

In doing so, it creates new points of connection between artists, collectors, and casual visitors who may be encountering contemporary art for the first time. A trip to the mall becomes an opportunity for discovery, conversation, and perhaps even a deeper appreciation of the ideas shaping Philippine visual culture today.

The project’s first exhibition opens on June 10, 2026, welcoming the public into what will be a continuously evolving experience over the next three months.

Among the featured artists in this year’s edition are Solenn Heussaff, Lynyrd Paras, Gene Paul Martin, Mark Jeffrey Santos, and Mark Rocha Paderna, alongside dozens of other contemporary Filipino artists contributing to the project's diverse and evolving program.

At its heart, Bridging The Gap 2 is an invitation—to pause, look closer, and encounter contemporary art not as something distant or exclusive, but as something woven into everyday life.
