Makati City, Philippines — For ARNAUKEI, the release of his debut EP Fin prêt is more than the arrival of a new music project. It is the culmination of a journey that began more than a decade ago when he first stepped onto Philippine soil as a student from Côte d’Ivoire, carrying little more than ambition, curiosity, and a passion for creativity.
On May 30, 2026, the Ivorian-born artist celebrated the official launch of Fin prêt with an exclusive listening party at Ministry Lounge Bar in Makati. The event gathered music enthusiasts, artists, media personalities, and supporters who were given an intimate first listen to the French-language project that ARNAUKEI describes as the most personal work of his career to date.
The evening marked a defining milestone for an artist whose path to music has been shaped by reinvention, resilience, and cultural exchange.
From Côte d’Ivoire to the Philippines
ARNAUKEI first arrived in the Philippines in 2011 to pursue his studies. What was initially meant to be an academic journey eventually became the foundation of his adult life and artistic identity.
“Since moving to the Philippines in 2011, I have built my adult life here,” he shared. “The country has played a defining role in my personal growth and artistic development, making it the most meaningful place to introduce this project. Releasing Fin prêt in the Philippines was not just a strategic decision; it was a reflection of my journey and a tribute to the place that helped shape it.”
Before embarking on a solo music career, he served as a lead singer within a religious organization in Davao. After leaving in 2014, he focused on completing his education while gradually immersing himself in Metro Manila’s entertainment scene, working as a DJ and performer.
A chance friendship would later alter the course of his life. Through a Nigerian friend named Gabby, ARNAUKEI was introduced to music production. What began as a simple introduction soon evolved into a passion for songwriting, recording, and producing original music. Over the years, he honed his craft while drawing inspiration from the vibrant artistic communities he encountered across the Philippines.

The Birth of ARNAUKEI
In 2021, he released his first official single, Help Me Thank God, under the stage name Chris Ish. The song marked the beginning of his recording career and opened the door to a deeper exploration of his artistic voice.
As his work expanded across music, dance, performance, and teaching, he recognized the need for a clearer creative direction. In 2024, he officially adopted the name ARNAUKEI and committed himself fully to music.
The rebranding represented more than a name change. It signaled a deliberate shift toward authenticity, cultural expression, and a sound that reflected his African heritage, international experiences, and life in the Philippines.

A Declaration of Readiness
The title Fin prêt, which translates from French as “fully prepared” or “ready for what’s next,” encapsulates the spirit of the project.
“Fin prêt represents a major milestone in my career,” ARNAUKEI said. “Although I officially began my musical journey in 2021, the process required years of learning, growth, discipline, and patience. More than just an EP, Fin prêt is a declaration of readiness. It symbolizes the completion of a formative chapter and the beginning of a new one.”
“In many ways, it feels like a graduation—a statement that I am fully prepared to step forward and compete at the highest level of the music industry.”
Performed entirely in French, the EP blends Afro-inspired rhythms, rap, melody, and contemporary influences into a sound that is both deeply personal and globally resonant. The project draws from ARNAUKEI’s African roots while reflecting the cultural influences and experiences he has gathered throughout his years in the Philippines.

Finding Inspiration in Filipino Music
For ARNAUKEI, one of the most influential aspects of living in the Philippines has been the country’s rich musical culture.
“Music is deeply embedded in Filipino culture,” he said. “It is present everywhere, and the level of musical talent here is truly exceptional. In my opinion, the Philippines is home to some of the greatest vocalists in the world.”
“Being surrounded by such artistry constantly challenged me to elevate my craft and strive for excellence. Collaborating with Filipino artists has been both inspiring and humbling, and many of the musical foundations I rely on today were developed through my experiences here.”
Those influences are woven throughout Fin prêt, making the EP not only a reflection of ARNAUKEI’s identity as an African artist, but also a testament to the cultural bridges he has built during his years in the country.
Looking Ahead
The successful listening party at Ministry Lounge Bar signaled the beginning of a promising new chapter. With Fin prêt, ARNAUKEI formally introduces himself to audiences as an artist with a clear vision, a distinct voice, and an international perspective.
More than a debut release, the EP stands as a declaration of purpose from an artist who has spent years preparing for this moment.
And now, as the title suggests, he is fully prepared for what comes next.
