Jeph Fernandez is a Head of Product, entrepreneur, and lifelong tinkerer who's spent his career helping companies and startups build things people actually love using. Born in the Philippines and raised in New York, he got his start at some of NY's top agencies before falling into the startup world, where he now spends much of his time working alongside founders to sharpen their products, shape their strategy, and, in a few cases, help them raise capital.
Earlier on in New York, Jeph spent several years with Gawad Kalinga NY, an experience that left a real mark on how he thinks about community and the people behind the work. That same curiosity is what eventually led him to start Wika Magazine. After years of traveling through Asia, he kept noticing the same thing: the most incredible places, makers, and talents almost never made it into guidebooks. You had to know a local. Wika is his attempt to be that local for everyone else, a home for the homegrown talent that deserves more eyes on it, and a way for readers to find the kind of gems they’d otherwise walk right past.
Away from the work, Jeph is a serious stand-up comedy fan. When he's back in New York, you'll most likely catch him at the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village, where he's basically a regular.
