Is the iPhone 5 Really Worth the Wait?

Since last year, iPhone lovers have been anticipating the release of the iPhone 5. But unfortunately, the planned unveiling of this iPhone version did not push through, and instead Apple released the iPhone4s.

The good news lately is that for those who have been eagerly awaiting for the iPhone 5, rumor is it will be released no earlier than October this year. However, Apple is still keeping mum on the actual release date, and so there is nothing we can do but wait.

For now, let us take a look on what we can expect from this next iphone version, and see if it is really worth the wait.

Over the past months, countless of rumors about the features, design and specifications of the iPhone5 have been circulating on the internet. There has been too much information about the iPhone5, but Apple has yet to confirm most of them. But amidst these speculations, one thing is certain – the new iPhone will be sporting a new and improved design.

It has been said that the iPhone5 will carry a 4-inch screen, which is 0.5 inches bigger than the current iphone screen size. Most of the new Android phones that have hit the market late last year and early this year have one thing in common – a bigger screen display. So maybe Apple is feeling the pressure to level the playing field by increasing the screen size of the new iPhone.

For those hoping for a more powerful iPhone version, then iPhone5 might be the answer to your prayers. There have been talks that the new iphone will come with a multi-core processor, which will help to greatly improve user experience.  A multi-core processor will boost the iphone’s response time and will allow users to run more applications in the background simultaneously. So if there is any truth to this, then this is definitely an upgrade that iphone users should look forward to.

With a multi-core processor in place, we can assume that the iPhone5 will also offer crisper and clearer graphic display. It will also be able to perform complex 3D and graphic renderings. If this is the case, the new iPhone will also appeal to avid gamers who demand only the best and top-of-the-line video graphic capabilities.

There have also been rumors that the iPhone 5 will be 20% thinner than the previous iphone versions. It will feature a sleeker and thinner frame at 7.4 millimeters. In addition to this, it will come with a new pill-sized dock connector which will be a lot smaller that the current thirty-pin connector used by old iphones.

Another interesting speculation about the iPhone 5 is that it might have LTE/4G support. If this is true, then this would be a big game changer as this means that the new iphone will be capable of accessing contents faster and more efficiently, something that any iPhone user would want to take advantage of.

As for the new iPhone’s battery, with the assumption of having a bigger screen and a more powerful processor, it makes sense that it will feature a more efficient battery pack. However, the battery’s life and performance will likely be the same as the previous iPhone models.

Overall, these rumors and predictions sound very promising, and if the new iPhone will really offer the speculated upgrades then iphone lovers would not mind the long wait.
