Hit South Korean Show ‘Single’s Inferno’ Renewed for Season 4

Netflix’s global hit dating show, Single’s Inferno will return for another season. It becomes the first Netflix Korea unscripted series to reach its fourth consecutive edition, as announced by the streaming giant on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.

The show features Korean singles on a steamy and candid quest to find love and companionship while staying on a hot, secluded island called Inferno. To escape Inferno and enter Paradise, the participants must link up as couples through mutual selection or winning grueling challenges.
Paradise is a one-of-a-kind, luxurious experience involving intimate dates in lavish hotels, yachts, sports cars, pools, saunas, and other amenities. During their dates, the couples also reveal their ages and occupations, deepening their connection to one another.

Shattering Records

Since first airing in 2021, the show broke records for every season released. In its first season, it entered the Netflix Global Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) list and was the first Korean unscripted series to do so.

For its sophomore season, Single’s Inferno has maintained its popularity and achieved a whopping 65 million viewing hours across all viewers. Meanwhile, its recently concluded season stayed in the previously mentioned list for five consecutive weeks and joined the top 10 list for 31 countries.

Stardom Awaits

The program has catapulted the competitors into stardom and has exponentially increased their social media followers by exposing them to millions of Netflix subscribers worldwide.

Among those who have reached new heights in international fame include Season 1’s Song Ji-a and Cha Hyun-seung, Season 2’s Kim Jin-young and Shin Seul-ki, and Season 3’s Lee Gwan-hee, Yun Ha-jeong, and Choi Hye-seon. Hye-seon stands out with a massive 825-fold follower growth, acquiring more than 1.6 million followers.

Season Four Twists?

Likening the casting process to selecting professional athletes, the producers of the show promise not to disappoint the fans’ growing anticipation for the next batch of Korea’s most alluring bachelors and bachelorettes.

In a statement to Netflix, producer Kim Jae-won shares that “we will continue to do our best and make sure Season 4 is even more entertaining for you by paying closer attention to the fans’ feedback on Season 3, both positive and negative.”
