Every summer, I have gotten accustomed to looking forward to certain things.
- Free movies at Bryant Park.
- Suits and White Collar will take up my DVR space.
- Halo-halo at Jeepney is tastiest during this time of the year.
- Summer Streets is a great way to meet people.
- NBA free-agency will have drama.
- Mick Boogie and DJ Jazzy Jeff will put out a new Summertime mixtape.
Yeah. Every summer since I downloaded the first mixtape, it has been something that I would really look forward to when July hits.
I actually wasn’t sure about this year, wondering if last year’s mixtape was gonna be it. But, thankfully, they’ve come back to do it again. It’s the perfect accompaniment to backyard barbecues and hanging out by the block. A list of some classic hip-hop and R&B songs that would bring you back.
