The Second Installment of “Inuman at Pulutan” (Tapas and Drinks) was bigger and better this year, held at the Midtown Loft and Terrace
Organized by the Office of the Philippine Consulate General of New York, the Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce (New York), The Philippine Department of Tourism and The Philippine Trade and Investment Center, “Inuman and Pulutan” came out for the second year in a row as an event to promote Filipino cuisine.
This year’s event features six notable Filipino-owned New York establishments: Bibingka-esk (Chef Eileen Formanes), Inasal NYC (Chef Brandon Vargas), Maharlika Filipino Moderno / Jeepney NYC (Nicole Ponseca and Chef Miguel Trinidad), Lumpia Shack (Chef Neil Syham), Pig and Khao (Chef Leah Cohen) and Ugly Kitchen NYC (Chef Aris Tuazon and Chef Ron Ancheta).
As the event was planned out before the natural disasters that had hit the Philippines (Earthquake in Bohol and Cebu followed by Typhoon Haiyan), it should also be noted that the event had immediately set up plans to assist in relief efforts by setting up a donation table, while the participating restaurateurs have had projects set specifically to help out as well.
