Scenes from last night’s Donations Drive at Jeepney NYC,  hosted by The Maharlikans’ Nicole Ponseca and Pulitzer Prize-Winning Journalist Jose Antonio Vargas

New York, NY – The power of Bayanihan was on full display at Jeepney NYC last night, as a huge turnout came to support the fundraising efforts for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan (locally named in the Philippines as Typhoon Yolanda). Apart from monetary donations, which sibling restaurants Jeepney and Maharlika will continue to accept through this Saturday, they are also collecting canned food and ready-to-eat non perishables, all of which will be shipped over to the Philippine Red Cross for immediate distribution in Tacloban and other hard-hit areas of the Visayan region.

Maharlika/Jeepney NYC owner Nicole Ponseca and Jose Antonio Vargas hosted the event along with Tiger Beer, who also donated cases of beer from which all sales will proceed to the cause. As of this morning, funds have reached approximately $8,100.

Check out some of the scenes below, as well as the interviews from some notable attendees.
